Battle of the Bibles & Changing the Word.

We recommend DVDs Battle of the Bibles and Changing the Word by Professor Veith.

We found this SO interesting... comparing the KJV with the NIV & RSV!

The following verses are NOT found in the NIV & RSV; but, they are found in the KJV.

Matt 17:21, 18:11, 23:14
Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46, 11:26, 15:28
Luke 17:36, 23:17
John 5:4
Acts 8:37, 15:34, 24:6-8, 28:29
Romans 16:24
I Tim 2:7
II Tim 4:22

In the DVD, Veith compares the KJV with NIV & RSV. He then explains the differences between the verses... and I was just amazed. Why does this matter? Well, removing or modifying certain verses make it hard/impossible to prove that Jesus is the fulfillment of prophecy... and Jesus' diety!

Compare also 1 John 5:7. It would be difficult/impossible to prove the trinity in the NIV, but not the KJV.
Here are some modified verses you can compare for yourself:
1 Cor 15:34, Job 26:5, Matthew 1:16 & 25, 24:36, Mark 2:17, 10:21, Luke 4:4, 9:55-56, 11:2, John 5:39, 16:23, Acts 13:42, 16:7, Ephes 3:9, Col 1:15-16, 2 Tim 4:1, Heb 11:3, I Peter 1:22, Rev 14:5

I highly recommend the DVDs!

Or watch on YouTube. This is just Part 1 of the second DVD:

This is very interesting to me, recently have been learning about apocrypha books which sheds light on some similar thoughts. Our church accepts the apocrypha as canon, others don't, interesting what that leads to as far as beliefs and meanings. I wish I knew greek and hebrew to infer my own translation of original texts!
